Springtime Butterfly And A New Shuttle

Springtime Butterfly And A New Shuttle

This one was done with Lizbeth, size 20, springtime and leaf green med.

Wicked Nothings had hosted a tatting shuttle exchange.  The requirements was a shuttle, meters of thread, and something about you.  I just received my gorgeous shuttle with a dove on each side and lots of  thread, beads, earwires and postcards.  My secret shuttle person was Lottie from Florida....thanks a bunch Lottie.

The post cards are of the insulators that they collect.  Boy, does that bring back wonderful memories.  One of the summers, I spent at my grandpa's house, we found a few insulators along the abandon railroad area.  I always thought the seagreen glass was very pretty.

Thanks again Lottie.  It's all so wonderful.

If you are interested in doing a secret exchange.  Wicked Nothings is hosting a Secret Santa Exchange!!!  OH, what FUN!!

The smaller ones could be used as earrings.

Rachel's Bracelet

Rachel's Bracelet

Rachel is a very dear friend of mine.  I taught her to needle tat, over a year ago.  She loves the needle and has no desire to shuttle tat.  She is very tall and likes bold jewelry.  This pattern was designed for her.  The bracelet was tatted with Lizbeth, size 3, jungle greens.

Smashing Bracelet

Smashing Bracelet

I smashed a few extra lighthouse  pennies and made bracelet out of them.  Too bad there wasn't different lighthouse pennies in the area.  That would make a cool souvenir bracelet.  A hint, use pre-1982 pennies and seal them with colorless fingernail polish.  The newer pennies have a zinc core and tend to surface once smashed.

Square Motif

Square Motif

This is one of my favorite patterns to tat.  Jon had taken her square motif and turned it into a necklace.  I like to make them in size 3 thread.  Thankfully Handy Hands started making this size with their gorgeous Lizbeth thread.  The thread tats nicer than the three-strand crochet thread.  This one was made with my left over crochet thread.
