Teal Cross

Teal Cross

Wanted to make some thing bigger, so tried making a cross.  I had a brain-fart, while adding the long strand of beads, but got it right the next time.  Yesterdays, post was the result of the fart.  Here is the final product.  The cross was tatted with silver sewing thread and measures 2" X 2 1/2".

Baby Bunnies

Baby Bunnies

These are a pair of baby bunnies I had gotten in a tatting exchange.  They are from Carollyn, "Carollyn's Tatting Blog."  They even came in their own little tatting case.  Aren't they just adorable!!!  They jumped straight to work and are working on a new Tatsmithing design.

The baby bunnies have been hard at work.  Here is what they created, using two stands of Sulky, metallic, purple/teal sewing thread.  The pendent is 1 3/8" in diameter.   I had just enough thread on my core shuttle to complete this one.  Next time I use this thread, I'll blend it with gold or silver thread.

Custom Order

Custom Order

A customer had seen a pendent, from last weeks post, that matched, perfectly, one of her rings.  She asked if I would make a chain for the pendent.  The chain was made with two strands of metallic sewing thread.

Pretty good match.

Baby Bats

Baby Bats

Finally finished some shuttles.  This one came to me as we were driving down the road to go fishing.  It was earlier in the spring and a bat swooped  in front of the truck.  I love bats, they remind me of flying ratties.  They also eats lots of mosquitoes!!!  When we lived on the mountain, we didn't have any mosquitoes and lots of bats.

So this got me thinking of a shuttle design.  Here they are, from the bat cave:

Cutter

Cutter

My sister lost one of her kitties.  This is a card I sent her with a tatted cat sitting pretty.  He's not that innocent, looking at his eyes, he's ready to pounce.

The pattern is one of Jane's, "Cat-Sitting", tatted with size 20 thread.

Flowers

Flowers

Still in the mood to Tatsmith.  Didn't get much tatting done, while my parents were here.  We had a wonderful time with them.  This little cab was from an old clip earring.  The earring was glued on and came off easily.  The tatting was done with two strands of metallic sewing thread.  This pendent measures 1.25" X 1.5".

Dad

Dad

A familiar site,  Dad playing solitaire on his new toy (tablet).  I think he got that toy to play card games on.  Something to keep him busy.

No, I didn't hit him on the hand.  He takes aspirin for his heart and causes him to bruise easily.

Lucet

Lucet

My mom brought a procedure for a lucet.  It is a cord-making device, similar to a knitting spool.  I immediately went down to the workshop and cut one out on my shuttle-making saw.  Of course, it couldn't be plain  (notice I didn't say plain-jane, Jane).  I added some cats-eyes and did a little engraving.  The cord comes out in a nice thick square.  Have to make up a few more, soon.  My mom has pink cats-eyes and I have the peach one.

Presents

Presents

My parents came, over my birthday.   Dad had found some wonderful toys.  This is a new adapter, by Dremel.  It has a built in adapter to tighten down the chuck.  This is great!!  I don't have to try and find the wrench to tighten it down.  This adapter is always on the Dremel.
